Overview
Carpal tunnel syndrome is compression of the median nerve at the wrist, causing numbness, tingling and pain in the hand — often worse at night. It is easily diagnosed with nerve conduction studies and highly treatable.

Treatment
- Wrist splinting, especially at night
- Activity modification and medication
- Local injection in selected cases
- Surgical referral for severe compression
