Neck and back pain are extremely common. When pain radiates into the limbs or is accompanied by weakness or numbness, it may involve the nerves or spinal cord and needs careful neurological assessment.
Back pain with leg weakness, numbness, loss of bladder control or unexplained weight loss needs prompt medical assessment.
